Biography

Victor Marx is the Republican nominee for governor. An author and minister who founded All Things Possible Ministries in 2003, he is a political newcomer who served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the 1980s. His platform calls for a phased reduction of the state income tax, expedited residential permitting, school choice, voter ID and required cooperation with federal immigration authorities.[1][2][3]

Basic profile — the most important sourced facts we found.

Marx was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, in 1965, and grew up there.[1] He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1983 to 1986, and later worked for three years as an assistant at Focus on the Family.[1]

Marx founded All Things Possible Ministries in 2003, and the Colorado Sun describes him as the founder and CEO of the nonprofit humanitarian organization.[1][3] The Colorado Sun described his life story as “extraordinary, albeit mostly unprovable,” including unverified claims of saving people, a fatal shooting and an air strike, and reported that it raises questions he has refused to answer; his campaign did not respond to a request for more detail about it.[3]

Marx announced his run for governor on October 1, 2025, and won nearly 40 percent of the vote at the Republican state assembly in April 2026.[1] He narrowly won the June 30 Republican primary over Barbara Kirkmeyer and Scott Bottoms, with the race called on July 9.[1][3] In late July he selected Marine veteran George Washington Markert as his running mate.[1] His campaign website calls for requiring voter ID for all ballots, a phased reduction of the state income tax, and cooperation with federal immigration authorities, including ICE and the Department of Homeland Security, when an arrested person is suspected of being in the country unlawfully.[2] Marx is married to Eileen Marx, and they have five children.[1]

Priorities

  • Cutting taxes through a phased reduction of the state income tax when verified surpluses exist.[4]
  • Public safety, including grants, training and technology for local law enforcement.[4]
  • Education choice and parental access to curriculum.[4]

Statements, quoted without a stance

  • Faster transition away from fossil fuels
“As Governor, I will support an all-of-the-above energy strategy that expands renewable sources like wind, solar, and geothermal while maintaining the vital role of oil, gas, hydroelectric power, and emerging technologies such as modular nuclear and advanced storage systems.”[4]

    On his campaign policy page

  • Loosen zoning rules to build more housing
“Streamline permitting, cut regulatory red tape, end unfunded mandates on counties and give local communities, not Denver bureaucrats, the tools to create attainable housing that fits their needs.”[5]
