Attorney General of Vermont
Statewide — all of Vermont
General election · Tuesday, November 3, 2026
- Vermont elects its Attorney General to a two-year term. Incumbent Charity Clark is seeking a third term.[9]
- H. Brooke Paige, who has entered Republican primaries for statewide offices so that Democratic write-in candidates cannot win those nominations, a practice Vermont Public reports he has followed for a decade, won the Republican primary for Attorney General and then withdrew; the Vermont Republican committee chose Ed Kemon as the replacement.[1][8]

Issue evidence — side by side
Recorded votes, documented positions and candidates’ own words are shown with sources. “In their own words” quotes a candidate on the topic without inferring a stance. Votes describe specific bills or motions; they do not establish overall support or opposition to a broad issue. A dash means our research has no evidence on that topic, not that the candidate has no position.
Protect legal access to abortion
- Charity ClarkIn their own words[2]
“Charity took every opportunity to support our right to abortion”
On her campaign site, which also cites her suit against the FDA over medication abortion access and her defense of a Vermont law on crisis pregnancy centers

Research notes & limits
Slate: Vermont Secretary of State's 2026 general-election qualified-candidates file lists two candidates (Clark, Kemon), consistent with Vermont Public and WCAX reporting after the party's replacement of Paige. Clark's record items come from her office's own press releases. Only Clark's campaign-site statement on abortion is recorded as a position-related statement; she did not take a documented side on other listed issues in the material reviewed.
