Biography
Walter "Rocky" Beach is a paramedic of more than 37 years from Gonzales who co-founded EMS Reform and is running as an unaffiliated candidate for Louisiana's 2nd Congressional District.[1][2][4] His campaign website focuses on EMS funding, first responder protections and ending ambulance monopolies.[3]
Beach graduated from Chester High School and earned an associate degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1991 and a bachelor's degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2004.[2]
He says he has worked as a paramedic for more than 37 years alongside firefighters, law enforcement, dispatchers, nurses and doctors, and he describes himself as "not a career politician."[2] The Louisiana Illuminator's voter guide describes him as a paramedic who advocates for first responders.[4]
