Biography
Steven Burt is an unaffiliated candidate for Utah's 4th Congressional District. An attorney who grew up in the district, he is running on loyalty to constituents rather than a party, term and age limits for members of Congress, a ban on congressional stock trading and housing affordability.[1]
Burt graduated from Copper Hills High School and says he grew up in the 4th District, still lives there and has family and friends in it.[1] He earned a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in 2003 and a law degree from the University of Utah in 2007.[1]
Burt works as an attorney; the Salt Lake Tribune reports that he previously worked as an executive and in-house counsel for solar energy companies.[1][2] He says he spent more than a year before launching his campaign listening to voters in the district.[1]
