Biography

Spencer Dixon is the Democratic candidate for the Maryland House of Delegates, District 32, in the November 3, 2026 general election, after advancing from the June 23, 2026 Democratic primary.[1] He works for the Maryland Prescription Drug Affordability Board and previously served as legislative director to state Senator Dawn Gile, according to a Ballotpedia survey.[2]

Dixon said in a Ballotpedia survey that he was born and raised in Anne Arundel County, and his profile lists Severna Park High School.[1][2] Ballotpedia lists a bachelor's degree from George Washington University in 2013 and a graduate degree from the same university in 2019.[1] He said he spent five years on Democratic campaigns and worked for a nonprofit promoting Affordable Care Act enrollment while earning a master's degree in public policy with a focus on health care.[2] After organizing in the 2022 midterms in Maryland, he served as Senator Dawn Gile's legislative director.[2]

Dixon said his interest in health care policy stems from his mother's experience with insurance companies after she was diagnosed with Crohn's disease before the Affordable Care Act's protections.[2] He named lowering energy costs, protecting Marylanders from cuts to health care and food assistance, and addressing housing affordability as his key messages.[2] On housing, he said he supports building more housing and encouraging smart-growth development where infrastructure exists.[2]
