RCandidate

On the ballot Nov 3, 2026: U.S. House · New Jersey's 5th District

Biography

Sean Kirrane is the Republican nominee for New Jersey's 5th Congressional District. Born in Westwood and now living in River Vale, he is a corporate consultant and entrepreneur who began his career in banking and says he has more than twenty years of experience in healthcare, finance and technology. He has not previously run for office and describes himself as a "socially moderate, fiscally responsible" Republican focused on affordability, healthcare and housing.[1][2][3]

Kirrane was born in Westwood, New Jersey, and earned a high school diploma from Bergen Catholic High School and a bachelor's degree from St. Joseph's University in 2000; he also attended Villanova University.[1] He says his first job was a summer internship at Hudson United Bancorp during college, after which he stayed on and, by his account, rose to Assistant Vice President of Treasury Operations within a few years.[2] Ballotpedia describes his career as that of an entrepreneur and executive, and as of 2025 he was affiliated with Cortex-X, the Kirrane Group and Arcadia Health Partners.[1]

Kirrane describes more than twenty years working in healthcare, finance and technology, including leading what he calls billion-dollar transactions and turnarounds of bankrupt hospitals.[2] The New Jersey Globe described him in September 2025 as a corporate consultant, artificial intelligence entrepreneur and father of two from River Vale who had never run for office.[3] He announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination in September 2025, saying he would focus on affordable housing legislation and a universal health care system driven by the free market.[3] The Globe later reported that John Aslanian ended his Republican primary campaign, leaving Kirrane unopposed for the nomination.[4]
