Landon Dais is the unopposed Democratic incumbent for Assembly District 77 in the Bronx. An attorney who earlier worked at the Police Athletic League and Turner Construction, he won a February 2024 special election and was elected to a full term in November 2024. He sits on the Banks, Cities, Economic Development, Energy, Housing and Small Business committees, and his campaign website lists affordable housing, street safety, senior services and youth investment among his priorities.[1][2][3][4]

Dais was born and raised in New York and lives in Highbridge in the Bronx with his wife and two sons, according to his official Assembly biography, which says he began his education at Fordham Prep.[1] He earned a B.A. in business management from Morehouse College, an M.S. in real estate development from Columbia University, and a J.D. from Hofstra Law School.[1][2] Before law, he served as a Deputy Director at the Police Athletic League and worked at Turner Construction, including on the new Yankee Stadium project.[1][5] As an attorney he helped small businesses and non-profits; his official biography says his work in the cannabis industry advanced marijuana legalization, workforce development and criminal justice reform, and that he received the Pro-Bono Attorney of the Year award from Touro College's Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center for his work on marijuana arrests, and the NAACP Roy Wilkins Award.[1]

Dais won the February 2024 special election for Assembly District 77, defeating Republican and Conservative Party candidate Norman McGill, 75.0% to 25.0%, and succeeded Latoya Joyner; Ballotpedia lists his term as beginning February 14, 2024.[2] He won a full term on November 5, 2024, with 74.3% of the vote (18,104 votes) over Republican Norman McGill and Conservative Party candidate Elianni Del Carmen Tejada Fabian.[2] His committee assignments for 2025-2026 are Banks, Cities, Economic Development/Job Creation/Commerce and Industry, Energy, Housing, and Small Business, and he is also a member of the Black Task Force, the Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic & Asian Legislative Caucus and the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Task Force.[4] Outside the Assembly, he serves on the board of the Mid Bronx Desperadoes (MBD), focusing on affordable housing, and leads the Highbridge Heights Homeowners Association; he coaches baseball in the Foster Park league and founded "Brunch of Dads," a support group for Black and Latino fathers, according to his official biography.[1][5]
