RCandidate

On the ballot Nov 3, 2026: Utah House District 10

Biography

Jim Alvey is the Republican candidate for Utah House of Representatives District 10 in the November 3, 2026 general election, in which he faces Rosemary Lesser (D).[1][2] A retired lifelong Ogden resident, he said in a Ballotpedia survey that his priorities include limiting government growth and reducing the tax burden.[1][3]

Jim Alvey graduated from Ogden High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Weber State University in 1981.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he was born in Ogden, grew up on Harrison Boulevard and has lived in District 10 his entire life, and that he and his wife raised six sons, built a small business and served their church and community.[3] Alvey listed three key messages: stopping government growth, reducing the tax burden on citizens, and opposing policies that allow boys and men to participate in women's sports and gender-affirming therapies for children while supporting what he called the sanctity of life.[3] He also said school choice should be a parental right.[3]
