Biography
Edward Lee is the Republican candidate for Assembly District 36. He describes himself as a longtime independent political activist who has organized cross-partisan candidate forums and debates in New York City.[1]
Lee says he has been a political activist for over 30 years and that in 2022, 2024 and 2026 he gathered candidates across party lines at a project he founded, unifiedplatformusa.com, to document areas of agreement among them. He says he has organized what he describes as New York City's only third-party and independent candidate debates.[1] Ballotpedia lists his profession as activist. He is the Republican candidate in 2026; the Republican primary was canceled and he advanced without appearing on the ballot.[1][2]
