Biography

Eduardo Castillo is a Monmouth County retail worker running a write-in general-election campaign built around workers' rights, banking reform, and family-support policy. He ran for the New Jersey General Assembly in 2025.[1][2]

Castillo describes himself in Ballotpedia surveys as a Monmouth County resident and retail worker who has held more than six retail jobs. He says he was born in the Dominican Republic, immigrated to the United States in 2010, and graduated from Glenn Hills High School in Augusta, Georgia, before moving to New Jersey.[2]

In 2025 Castillo ran as a write-in Democratic candidate for New Jersey General Assembly District 13 in the November 4 general election, which was won by two Republican incumbents; he received 3 votes.[2] His 2026 campaign priorities, as listed in his Ballotpedia survey response, include a $31 minimum wage indexed to inflation, a cap on credit card interest rates, free school meals and childcare, and regulation of artificial intelligence.[2]
