In 2016 Mann opened Mann Law Firm, and since 2019 his practice has focused mainly on representing victims of drunk driving and their families.[4][3] He is married to Ashley Mann, a cardiothoracic surgeon in Olathe, and they live in Lawrence with their two children.[4] He was the Democratic nominee for attorney general in 2022 and lost to Kobach, and he advanced from the Democratic primary on August 4, 2026.[1]
