Biography
Carl Kinsky is the Democratic candidate for Missouri House of Representatives District 145 in the November 3, 2026 general election, facing Republican incumbent Bryant Wolfin.[1][2] Kinsky is a retired attorney who served as the elected prosecutor of Ste. Genevieve County for 20 years, according to his Ballotpedia survey responses.[3]
Carl Kinsky served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve from 1979 to 1985, earned a bachelor's degree from Colgate University in 1983 and received a law degree from the Duke University School of Law in 1986.[2] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he was also the District Public Defender for the area, received the Contract Public Defender of the Year Award from the Missouri Public Defender System in 2025, and largely retired from the practice of law in January 2026.[3] He said he serves on the Ste. Genevieve County Health Board and the Ste. Genevieve City Planning and Zoning Board.[3]
Kinsky advanced unopposed from the August 4, 2026 Democratic primary.[2] In his survey responses, he said he is running because Missouri faces projected multibillion-dollar budget deficits and needs a representative who will be open with voters about tough choices, and he named fiscal responsibility, public education and transparency with voters as policy priorities.[3]
