Biography

Ashley Webb is an independent artist, published author and patient advocate from Farmington, Maine, running as a certified write-in Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate. She sought the Democratic nomination after Graham Platner withdrew and took part in a televised debate before the party chose Troy Jackson.[2][1]

Webb describes herself as an independent artist, published author and patient advocate from Farmington, Maine, and Ballotpedia lists her career experience as working as an advocate.[1] She says her campaign is built on years of hands-on advocacy work, and she cites her experience as a patient navigating the health care system.[1]

Webb sought the Democratic nomination to fill the vacancy left by Platner's withdrawal and took part in one televised debate for it. She lost at the July 25, 2026 Democratic convention, which Jackson won.[2][1] She then qualified as a declared write-in candidate for the November general election, which Maine will count by ranked-choice voting.[2]

Webb's stated priorities are health care reform focused on patients and clinicians, investment in rural infrastructure, including a proposed new highway corridor linking Farmington and Skowhegan to the interstate system, and government accountability to constituents.[1][3]
