Issue evidence — side by side

Recorded votes, documented positions and candidates’ own words are shown with sources. “In their own words” quotes a candidate on the topic without inferring a stance. Votes describe specific bills or motions; they do not establish overall support or opposition to a broad issue. A dash means our research has no evidence on that topic, not that the candidate has no position.

Research notes & limits

Slate: the State Election Commission's candidate/sample-ballot tools (vrems.scvotes.sc.gov) are interactive and could not be read; the two-candidate slate rests on Ballotpedia, WIS-TV (Oct 14, 2026), the Greenville News (Oct 14, 2026) and the USA TODAY Network candidate guide. No third-party or independent AG candidate was found. Neither candidate has positions on the fixed issue statements beyond Stumbo's single abortion-related sentence; no direct statements on guns, immigration or other listed issues were found. Stumbo's solicitor-office casework was not reviewed case by case.
