Wilneida Negron

Wilneida Negrón is the nominee of the "For All of Us" party line in New York's 12th Congressional District, running as an independent. According to her campaign materials, she began her career in crisis counseling and social services and has spent about two decades working in government, labor, technology and financial markets, including advising federal agencies and writing a book about technology and workers. She is running on cost of living, worker protections and government accountability.[1][2][3]

Negrón says she was born in New York to a mother from the Dominican Republic and a father from Puerto Rico, who met in NY-12, and that she grew up in a working-class, immigrant, small-business-owning family.[1][3] According to her campaign website, her career began in public service in juvenile detention centers, jails, senior centers, legal aid programs, crisis counseling initiatives and community organizations in New York City; in her Ballotpedia survey she says she began as a crisis counselor and therapist.[2][3] She says she has spent about twenty years working across government, labor, technology and markets, developing regulatory frameworks used by federal agencies and serving as an external advisor to two Democratic presidential administrations.[1][2][3]

Negrón is the author of The Human Interface, a book about technology and workers, and says she created the Worker Technology Rights Framework and leads national working groups of unions, researchers, policymakers and civic leaders.[2][3] Ballotpedia lists her profession as policy director and does not list any prior elected office.[2] She says she is raising two children in District 12 public schools.[3]
