Willie Preston is a Democratic member of the Illinois Senate for the 16th District, serving since 2023, according to the Illinois General Assembly.[1]
The legislature biography says he was born and raised in Chicago, lives in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood, and worked as a union carpenter before attending Chicago State University and Roosevelt University.[1] It also says he served on the Local School Council at Scott Joplin Elementary and on the board of a Chicagoland YMCA early childhood education program, and that he operates a construction firm.[1]
