Biography
Whittney Wood is the Democratic candidate for the Ohio House of Representatives, District 73, in the November 3, 2026 general election, after winning the May 5, 2026 Democratic primary.[1][3] In a Ballotpedia survey, she said she is running to address affordable housing and the influence of corporations and wealthy donors.[2]
Whittney Wood was born in Lancaster, Ohio, and earned a high school diploma from Fairfield Union High School.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, Wood said she grew up in Thurston, relies on Fairfield Medical Center for most of her healthcare, coaches her daughter's t-ball team, and works throughout District 73.[2]
Wood said in the survey that her background is practical rather than political and that she will not bow to big money.[2] She said Ohio has a shortage of affordable housing rather than of available housing, and objected to property management firms buying single-family homes.[2]
