Victor Harwood Jr. served in the U.S. Navy from 1978 to 1994.[1] He earned a high school diploma from Mount Anthony Union High School and a bachelor's degree from Southern Vermont College in 1975, and he is retired.[1]
In a Ballotpedia survey, Harwood described himself as a retired military officer and said he is more of a conservative libertarian than a party loyalist.[3] He said he is especially interested in the financial strain on working senior citizens, and that Vermont's tax burden is too high.[3] He listed prioritizing nuclear energy, opposing infringement on personal firearms, and stopping legislation outside the scope of government responsibility as key messages, and named taxes, sanctuary policies and funding for people in the state illegally, and a requirement for voter identification as policy areas of passion.[3]
