Biography
Vaughn McLaughlin is the Democratic candidate for the Maine State Senate, District 1, in the November 3, 2026 general election, in a race with no incumbent.[1][2] McLaughlin was also the Democratic nominee for the same seat in 2024.[1]
McLaughlin advanced unopposed from the 2024 Democratic primary for Senate District 1 with 1,311 votes.[1] In the November 5, 2024 general election McLaughlin lost to Republican Susan Y. Bernard, 6,892 votes (34.2 percent) to 13,248 (65.8 percent).[1]
In 2026 McLaughlin advanced unopposed from the June 9 Democratic primary with 2,995 votes.[1]
