Timothy Egan

Timothy Egan is a Democratic candidate for the New Hampshire House of Representatives, Grafton 1, in the November 3, 2026 general election, in a race where three seats are filled.[1][2] He previously represented Grafton 2 in the House from 2018 to 2022; in a Ballotpedia survey, he described himself as part-time faculty at Vermont State University and a media consultant.[1][3]

Timothy Egan graduated from Ramapo Regional High School and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland in 1987, followed by a graduate degree from Southern NH University and a certificate from Keene State University in 2021.[1] Ballotpedia lists his career experience as working as an educator.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he has been part-time faculty at Vermont State University since 2014, teaching business and communications and journalism, and that from 2016 to 2022 he was co-director of the university's incubator Without Walls.[3] He also said he works as a media consultant, and that he lives in the White Mountains of New Hampshire with his wife and daughter.[3]

Egan served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Grafton 2, from December 5, 2018, to December 7, 2022, and sat on the Fish and Game and Marine Resources Committee.[1] He ran in Grafton 1 in 2022 and 2024 and was not elected in either year.[1]

In the Ballotpedia survey, Egan listed his campaign priorities as legalizing adult-use cannabis through the state liquor commission, with half of net revenues directed to public schools, community colleges and state universities; creating revenue at transfer stations from reusable construction materials; and raising the tax rate on current-use land owned by non-residents.[3] He also named reducing property taxes, public education, environmental protection, senior healthcare and commuter rail among the policy areas he cares about.[3]
