Biography
Thomas McBeth is the Democratic candidate for Missouri House of Representatives District 40 in the November 3, 2026 general election, running against incumbent Republican Chad Perkins and Libertarian Sheri Jay.[1] He has a computer engineering degree and has worked in education.[1][2]
Thomas McBeth graduated from Clopton High School and earned a bachelor's degree from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in 2015.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said his degree was in computer engineering and that he did not pursue that profession, instead working a series of jobs before finding education.[2] He said he returned to Clopton for a year teaching in-school suspension, credit recovery and online courses, then worked as a paraprofessional in special education while getting certified to teach math.[2]
McBeth said his priorities include increasing education budgets, protecting rural hospitals and equal rights for all, including the queer community.[2]
