Biography
Thomas Carle is the Working Families Party and Democratic candidate for the New York State Assembly, District 150, in the November 3, 2026 general election, challenging incumbent Republican Andrew Molitor.[1][3] In a Ballotpedia survey, he described himself as a retired manufacturing manager and human resources professional.[2]
Carle was born in Binghamton, New York, and attended Susquehanna Valley High School.[1] He earned an associate degree from Broome County Community College (now SUNY Broome Community College) in 1981.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he grew up working on a dairy farm, has been self-employed, worked for major corporations, was a Teamster, and as a manager negotiated labor agreements with unions.[2] He said he is a father of five and a grandfather of six.[2]
Carle ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2024 and for Chautauqua County Executive in 2025, according to his survey responses.[2] In the 2026 survey, he said he would focus on efficiencies and cost controls to reduce the cost of government and taxes, on lowering residents' expenses such as energy, groceries and interest rates, and on population and business retention in Chautauqua County.[2] He also said he supports an energy approach that includes fossil fuels, renewables and nuclear power.[2] He said the Democratic Party and the Working Families Party nominated him.[2]
