Biography

Terrisa Bukovinac is an anti-abortion activist running in New Jersey's 9th Congressional District on the "Save Our Babies" ballot line.[1][2] She describes herself as a "progressive pro-life atheist" and previously led Democrats for Life of America and ran in New Jersey's 2024 Democratic presidential primary.[2][3]

Bukovinac was born on April 4, 1981. She founded Pro-Life San Francisco in 2017, became president of Democrats for Life of America in 2020, and founded Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising in 2021.[3] She ran for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination, and the New Jersey Globe reports hers was the only name besides Joe Biden on New Jersey's 2024 Democratic presidential primary ballot.[3][2]

Bukovinac filed for the 9th District in June 2026 with the slogan "Save Our Babies." Her petition lists an address in Ellendale, Tennessee, and the New Jersey Globe noted that she has no obvious connections to New Jersey.[2] The New Jersey Globe also reports that she is married to Randall Terry, founder of Operation Rescue, who filed to run in the 7th District.[2] She is running against Democratic Rep. Nellie Pou and Republican Rosie Pino in the November 3, 2026 general election.[4]
