Biography
Terri Wenkman is the Democratic candidate for Wisconsin State Assembly District 38 in the November 3, 2026 general election, facing incumbent William Penterman (R).[1][3] Wenkman is a nurse and a member of the Jefferson School District school board.[1]
Wenkman graduated from Jefferson High School, received a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota in 1998 and another from Viterbo University in 2011.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, she said she was raised in District 38, where her family lives and she is raising her children, and that she has been a registered nurse for 20 years.[2] She represents Area 4 on the Jefferson School District school board, with a term ending in 2027.[1]
Wenkman said her platform rests on three pillars: protecting the district's way of life from Big Tech, committing to strong public education, and addressing the cost of living as it affects access to health care.[2] She said she supports a moratorium on data centers until communities can provide input and consent, modernizing the public school funding formula, and expanding rural internet access.[2]
