Biography
Taras "TP" Nykoriak is the Republican nominee in Michigan's 13th District, advancing from the August 4, 2026 Republican primary. He has run for county and city office in the Detroit area before. According to his campaign website, he is running on government accountability, federal marijuana decriminalization and qualified-immunity reform for federal law-enforcement officers.[1][2]
Nykoriak describes himself as born and raised in Detroit.[2] According to his campaign website, he traveled to Ukraine in 2022 and 2023, which he says shaped his focus on oversight of U.S. foreign assistance.[2]
