Biography
Steve Washington is the Independent Party of Delaware candidate for Delaware State Senate District 1 in the November 3, 2026 general election, running against Democratic incumbent Dan Cruce and Republican Hildi Bachtle.[1][2] He has run for the seat before, in 2020 and in a February 2025 special election.[2]
Steve Washington ran for Delaware State Senate District 1 in the 2020 general election, receiving 26.7% of the vote to Democrat Sarah McBride's 73.3%.[2] He ran again in the February 15, 2025 special general election, in which Dan Cruce won with 76.9% to Washington's 20.8%.[2]
