Shannon Chandley

Shannon Chandley is the Democratic candidate for the New Hampshire State Senate, District 11, in the November 3, 2026 general election, seeking the seat held by Republican incumbent Tim McGough.[1][2] A former state representative and state senator from Amherst, she served in the Senate from 2018 to 2020 and from 2022 to 2024.[2]

In a Ballotpedia survey, Shannon Chandley said she grew up in a working-class neighborhood as the daughter of a firefighter and a school cafeteria worker, and that she has lived in Amherst for 25 years.[3] Ballotpedia lists her as having served on the board of the New Hampshire Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, on the board of the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, and as chair of the SHARE Outreach, Inc. board.[2]

Chandley served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives for Hillsborough District 6 from 2008 to 2010 and for Hillsborough District 22 from 2012 to 2014 and from 2016 to 2018.[2] In the House she chaired the Committee on Resources, Recreation and Development and was ranking member of the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee, according to her survey response.[3]

She won State Senate District 11 in 2018, lost it to Gary Daniels in 2020, defeated Daniels in 2022, and lost to Tim McGough in 2024.[2] In the Senate she served on the Judiciary, Health and Human Services, Executive Departments and Administration, and Commerce committees, she said in the survey.[3] She said she is running to put working families first, including by easing the burden of property taxes and ensuring the state fulfills its obligations to municipalities.[3]
