Biography
Seth Harp is the Democratic nominee for Florida's 3rd District. His Ballotpedia survey describes about 30 years in broadcast media as a host, anchor, reporter, director and operations manager, most recently at ESPN Gainesville, and FOX 35 describes him as a sixth-grade civics teacher. He is running on protecting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, term limits and child care relief.[1][2][3]
Harp was born in Auburn, Indiana, graduated from DeKalb High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University in 2001.[2] After college he stayed in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and became, in his words, one of the youngest hosts in the history of WKZO radio.[2] He moved to Florida more than a decade ago to serve as Director of Programming and Host for iHeartMedia's Fox Sports Radio and Gator Radio affiliate in Jacksonville.[2]
Harp has been Operations Manager for ESPN Gainesville (WRUF-AM) for about five years, as of his 2025 survey, and has taught as an adjunct at the University of Florida's College of Journalism.[2] FOX 35 describes him as a sixth-grade civics teacher and reports that he comes from a family of veterans, nurses and educators.[3] He won the August 18, 2026 Democratic primary over Tom Wells, Troy Albers and George Hubac.[2] His Ballotpedia profile lists his religion as United Methodist, and his survey describes a platform he calls the "13 Stripes of Strength", which includes a child care proposal he calls the C.U.B.S. Act.[2]
