Scott Bodley is the Democratic candidate for Iowa House of Representatives District 68 in the November 3, 2026 general election, running against incumbent Republican Chad Ingels.[1][3] A truck driver and U.S. Army veteran, he advanced from the Democratic primary on June 2, 2026.[1]
Scott Bodley graduated from Postville High School, served in the U.S. Army from 1994 to 1996, and his career experience includes working as a truck driver.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he described himself as a working-class father and hourly wage earner who chose to return to Iowa.[2]
Bodley's survey answers listed three key messages: protecting the environment and reducing Iowa's cancer rates, with water quality a priority; public schools, including support for defunding the school voucher program if necessary; and economic opportunity, including raising the minimum wage and strengthening worker protections.[2] He said he is passionate about getting corporate and billionaire money out of politics.[2]
