Scott Beck

Scott Beck is a Republican member of the Vermont State Senate for the Caledonia District, who served in the Vermont House from 2015 to 2025, joined the Senate in January 2025, and is seeking re-election in the November 3, 2026 general election.[1][2] A St. Johnsbury resident, he is a former U.S. Navy Naval Flight Officer and teacher.[1]

Scott Beck was born in and lives in St. Johnsbury, Vermont.[1] He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington before his military service, served in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Flight Officer, and afterward earned M.Ed. degrees in social science and mathematics at The Citadel.[1] His career experience includes working as a teacher and coach at St. Johnsbury Academy, owning an independent bookstore, and serving as executive director of the St. Johnsbury Chamber of Commerce.[1] Beck chaired the Downtown Improvement Commission, served on the board of RINK, and founded the Kingdom Maple Festival.[1]

Beck was assigned to the House Ways and Means Committee from 2019 through 2024.[1] In the Senate for 2025-2026 he serves on the Finance Committee, the Senate Rules Committee and the Natural Resources and Energy Committee.[1]
