Biography
Samuel Kane is the Republican nominee for New Mexico Attorney General and a Las Cruces personal injury attorney who has run his own practice since 2004. His campaign lists limits on license-plate-reader surveillance, combating methamphetamine and fentanyl crime, opposing unchecked data-center development and investigating utility rate hikes as priorities.[1][2][3]
Kane was not born in New Mexico; he moved to Las Cruces from Arizona and has lived there for more than 20 years.[1][3] After clerking for Senior U.S. District Judge Robert C. Brack, he opened his own law practice in 2004, focusing largely on personal injury cases.[3] His campaign site describes him as an attorney with decades of experience "fighting for the rights of New Mexicans."[1]
Kane advanced from the June 2, 2026 Republican primary for Attorney General with 96,092 votes as the only candidate on the ballot.[2] He describes his platform as constitutional conservative, with community safety first.[1] Kane is an avid cyclist, a pilot and a father, and his wife, Jessica, is his partner in business.[1]
