Biography

S. Marshall Wilson is a former West Virginia state delegate and the Constitution Party nominee for U.S. Senate. A U.S. Army veteran, former missionary and teacher, he served in the House of Delegates from 2016 to 2020 and has since run statewide as a third-party and write-in candidate.[1]

Wilson was born in Beaufort, South Carolina, and served in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Louisiana State University and earned an executive master of arts in national security affairs from the Institute of World Politics in Washington, D.C.[1] He worked as a missionary to Peru and as a teacher at Liberty University.[1]

Wilson represented District 60 in the West Virginia House of Delegates from 2016 to 2020, serving on committees including House Judiciary and House Health and Human Resources. He was elected as a Republican, ran unopposed in 2018, and did not run for re-election in 2020.[1] On December 17, 2019, he changed his party registration from Republican to independent, citing a dispute with the state Republican Party chair.[1]

He ran for Governor of West Virginia in 2020 as a write-in independent, receiving about 1.9% of the vote, and lost a 2022 House of Delegates race in District 91 as the Constitution Party candidate. In 2024 he ran for governor again as the Constitution Party candidate and received about 2.3%.[1]
