Biography

Robin Weldy is the Democratic candidate for Idaho State Senate District 6 in the November 3, 2026 general election, running against incumbent Dan Foreman (R).[1][2] In a Ballotpedia survey, she described herself as a semi-retired real estate investor from Lewiston.[3]

Weldy graduated from Lewiston High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Florida Atlantic University in 2011.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, she said she established a real estate company after earning a finance degree and spent 25 years rehabilitating houses before becoming semi-retired.[3] She said she volunteers on the Nez Perce County Communications Committee, serves as a precinct captain and lived in Puerto Rico for eight and a half years.[3]

Weldy defeated Richard Gayler in the May 19, 2026 Democratic primary, 52.3% to 47.7%.[1] Her survey lists affordable housing, funding for public education and access to health care, including Medicaid expansion, as key messages, and she said she wants to keep Idaho public lands open to all residents.[3]
