Biography
Robert Hunter is the Democratic candidate for the Alabama House of Representatives, District 28, in the November 3, 2026 general election, where he faces incumbent Republican Mack Butler.[1][2] In a Ballotpedia survey, Hunter listed a cap on annual rent increases, Medicaid expansion and a higher minimum wage as his key campaign messages.[3]
Hunter advanced to the general election without appearing on a primary ballot, because the Democratic primary for District 28 scheduled for May 19, 2026, was canceled.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he is personally passionate about human rights, labor rights, civil rights, affordability of rent and healthcare.[3] He named the For the Future Victory Fund and North Alabama DSA as endorsers of his campaign.[3]
