Biography
Robert Hower is the Democratic candidate for Michigan State Senate District 22 in the November 3, 2026 general election, having advanced from the August 4 Democratic primary.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he described himself as a research engineer at the University of Michigan and owner of Numed Technologies.[2]
Hower graduated from Milan High School and earned a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 2005.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he is a fourth-generation Michigander, a research engineer at the University of Michigan, a faculty union member, and owner of Numed Technologies, and that he teaches graduate-level classes at Wayne State University.[2]
Hower's survey listed three priorities: increasing funding for public schools from preschool through college, making health care more affordable through greater transparency in medical billing, and keeping costs down by championing a living wage.[2] He also said he opposes data centers because of pollution, few permanent jobs and increased utility costs for consumers.[2]
