Biography
Bob Chew, listed as Robert Chew, is the Colorado Forward Party nominee for U.S. Senate. A Navy veteran and engineer, he is the retired founder of a global engineering and technical services firm and describes himself as an independent alternative to the two major-party nominees.[1][2][3]
Bob Chew says he grew up on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio, and lived in several states, including Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, Florida, New York, Connecticut and Wyoming, before moving to Colorado nearly a decade ago.[2] He graduated from West Geauga High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1981; his campaign website says the degree is in chemical engineering.[2][4] Chew served in the U.S. Navy from 1980 to 1986, and says he was an officer on a nuclear submarine during the Cold War. His campaign website adds that he later joined the Navy Reserves as an intelligence officer.[2][4]
Chew says he started a small business that failed after three years, then founded a second business in 1996 providing engineering and technical services to manufacturing operations and mission-critical facilities. The company was sold to its employees in 2008; he was CEO until 2022 and board chair until June 2026.[2][4] Colorado Politics describes him as the retired founder of a global engineering firm and reports that his campaign has invested in a multi-million-dollar television and digital advertising effort.[3] He says he attends an Episcopal church in Boulder, Colorado, where he sings in the choir, and supports a local housing charity.[2]
