Biography

Richard Lamondin is the Democratic candidate for Florida State Senate District 38 in the November 3, 2026 general election, facing incumbent Alexis Calatayud (R) and Jeffrey Solomon, who has no party affiliation.[1][2] In a Ballotpedia survey, he described himself as a business owner and first-time candidate who co-founded the sustainability firm ecofi.[3]

Richard Lamondin graduated from Miami Country Day School and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California in 2010.[2] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he and his brother started a business thirteen years ago going building to building across South Florida to replace leaking toilets and help renters reduce utility bills, which grew into ecofi.[3] He said the company has conserved more than 10 billion gallons of water and prevented more than 300,000 metric tons of carbon emissions.[3]

Lamondin said his campaign focuses on the cost of housing and insurance, Medicaid expansion, mental health funding, early childhood programs and government accountability.[3] He advanced from the canceled August 18, 2026 Democratic primary without appearing on the ballot.[2]
