Biography
Reed Olson is the Democratic candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives, District 2A, in the November 3, 2026 general election.[1][2] Executive director of the Nameless Coalition for the Homeless, he previously ran for the seat in 2022 and 2024.[1]
Olson was born in St. Cloud and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1998, according to Ballotpedia.[1] In a 2022 Ballotpedia survey, he described himself as a cook, small business owner and community nonprofit director.[3] Ballotpedia lists his profession as executive director of the Nameless Coalition for the Homeless.[1]
Olson lost the 2022 general election for District 2A to incumbent Republican Matthew Grossell, and Ballotpedia's campaign finance records also show a 2022 candidacy for Minnesota's 7th Congressional District that ended with a withdrawal before the primary, and a loss in the 2024 general election for District 2A.[1] In his 2022 survey, he said he would support policies to create more housing in rural Minnesota, support people starting child care businesses, and increase investment in mental health services.[3]
