Biography

Philippe Cicchini is an independent candidate for Michigan State Senate District 9 in the November 3, 2026 general election, running against incumbent Republican Michael Webber, Democrat Theresa Brooks and Working Class Party candidate Jacob Schodowski.[1][2] An attorney from Troy, he said in a Ballotpedia survey that he qualified for the ballot by collecting more than 1,500 voter signatures.[1][3]

Philippe Cicchini graduated from De La Salle Collegiate High School, earned a bachelor's degree from Wayne State University in 1999 and a law degree from Wayne State University Law School in 2006.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he grew up in Fraser, lives in Troy with his wife and two daughters, and has served on the City of Fraser's Assessing Board of Review and the City of Troy's Global Advisory Committee.[3] He described himself as a consumer advocate who is running as an independent to be accountable to communities rather than party leadership.[3]

Cicchini listed school funding and teacher pay among his key messages, and said he would explore tax credits or deductions for families who educate children outside the public system while strengthening public education.[3] He also said he would focus on responsible governance, transparency and accountability.[3]
