Patrick O'Connell is the Republican candidate for the Michigan State Senate, District 1, in the November 3, 2026 general election.[1][3] In a Ballotpedia survey, he described himself as a former small-business owner who later worked in insurance.[2]
O'Connell graduated from Schafer High School.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he adopted four sons as a single father and is a foster parent, and that he owned Fisher Wallpaper and Paint in Wyandotte before moving into the insurance industry and working with several State Farm agents.[2]
O'Connell advanced from the Republican primary on August 4, 2026.[1] He said his campaign centers on lowering everyday costs, including housing, childcare and property taxes, protecting individual freedoms from government overreach, and addressing crime and drugs.[2]
