Biography

Pamela Michos is the Republican and Conservative Party candidate for New York State Senate District 11, running against incumbent Toby Ann Stavisky.[1][2][3] A Whitestone native, she describes a career in banking, financial services and wealth management, and she is PTA president of a Greek school in Flushing.[1][2][3] This is her first run for public office.[2]

Michos is a Whitestone, Queens native of Greek (Kefalonian) descent, according to a National Herald report, and an endorsing club describes her as a single mother and Greek Orthodox Christian.[2][3] According to her campaign website, she graduated from New York University's Steinhardt School, where she studied Nutrition and Food Studies with a concentration in Clinical Dietetics, and earned an Associate degree in Liberal Arts from Nassau Community College, graduating magna cum laude.[1] The website also says she developed health literacy programs for underserved communities in the Bronx and was recognized by NYC Health + Hospitals for her service.[1]

Her campaign website says Michos has nearly a decade of experience in banking, financial services and wealth management and nearly 14 years of executive leadership experience with publicly traded companies, and that she is a former small business owner.[1] An endorsing club describes her as having "managed billions of dollars."[3] She serves as PTA president of the Stefanos and Areti Cherpelis Hellenic School of Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Flushing.[2][3] She is running on the Republican and Conservative Party lines, and a campaign fundraiser was held in Bayside in September under the slogan "Protect the American Dream."[2]
