Biography

Pamela DeLancy is the Democratic nominee in Georgia's 10th Congressional District. A retired U.S. Army nurse colonel, she spent her final six years in uniform at the Pentagon and is a licensed registered nurse. She won the May 19, 2026 Democratic primary and is running on healthcare and veterans' issues.[1][2][3][4][5]

DeLancy retired from the U.S. Army in 2019 as a nurse colonel. In her Candidate Connection survey she cites more than 30 years of service, and in interviews she has described nearly 40 years, including more than 35 years in a March 2026 report by The Red & Black.[1][2][3][4] She spent her last six years in the Pentagon, where The Red & Black reports she was director of medical readiness; she told Flagpole she wrote policies for veterans and service members.[3][4] She says she is a registered nurse with an active license and has treated patients in hospital settings.[1][2]

DeLancy is a gallbladder cancer survivor who says she had two surgeries and six months of chemotherapy, and her daughter lives with a rare disease.[1][2] She told Flagpole she is from Henry County and describes herself as "not a career politician."[2][4] She won the May 19, 2026 Democratic primary, defeating Lexy Doherty and John Dority.[5]
