Biography
Norm Olsen is the Libertarian candidate for Colorado House of Representatives District 38 in the November 3, 2026 general election.[1][3] A retired software developer, he says in a Ballotpedia survey that he built a business over 25 years before selling it.[1][2]
Norm Olsen earned a high school diploma from Brooklyn Technical High School and a bachelor's degree from Union College in 1967.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he was born and raised in Brooklyn, earned a bachelor's degree in physics, and worked a 45-year career as a software developer.[2] He said he spent five years traveling as a product support engineer before settling in Colorado, then built a business that operated for 25 years before he sold it.[2] He described himself as retired, with two children and seven grandchildren.[2]
Olsen's stated key messages include that governments at all levels face financial instability, that Colorado should concentrate on essential functions such as law enforcement, roads, education and water supply, and that the Taxpayer Bill of Rights should be preserved.[2]
