Biography

Nickie Kane is a community advocate and grassroots organizer campaigning as a write-in candidate on the No Kings Party line in the NY-10 general election. According to her campaign website, she is a lifelong New Yorker who worked in retail, banking, advertising and human resources and previously ran for New York City Council in District 39. Ballotpedia lists her among Democratic primary candidates who withdrew or were disqualified.[1][2][3]

Kane describes herself as a lifelong New Yorker who began working after high school, first in retail and then in banking at Amalgamated Bank, North Fork Bank and Capital One.[3] She says she later worked in advertising at Publicis Groupe, earned a degree in new media from Queensborough Community College and a degree in psychology from The City College of New York, and held a human resources job at Disney ABC Television Group and a role in small business lending.[3] She says she is now studying to become a paralegal at New York City College of Technology and that she previously ran for New York City Council in District 39.[3]

Kane sought the Democratic nomination in NY-10, but Ballotpedia lists her among candidates who withdrew or were disqualified before the June 23, 2026 primary, and her campaign website describes legal challenges she brought over ballot access.[1][2] She now describes herself as a write-in candidate on the No Kings Party line.[2] She calls her campaign "people-powered" and herself a community advocate and grassroots organizer, and her campaign site says she also started the Independent Voters Alliance in June 2025.[2][3]
