Nancy Mannion

DCandidate

On the ballot Nov 3, 2026: U.S. House · Pennsylvania's 11th Congressional District

Biography

Nancy Mannion is a registered nurse with more than 40 years of experience, mostly in emergency nursing, who describes herself as a healthcare leader and international healthcare consultant. She is the Democratic nominee challenging Lloyd Smucker and is campaigning on affordability, health care, and restoring public trust in government.[1][2][3]

According to her campaign website, Mannion's nursing education began with a Registered Nurse diploma, followed by bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. Ballotpedia lists Salem State College (1988), the University of Maryland School of Nursing (graduate degree, 1995) and Waynesburg University (2015), and PoliticsPA reports a doctor of nursing practice from Waynesburg.[1][2][3] She has worked as a registered nurse for more than 40 years, largely as an emergency nurse and in hospital, health system and association management roles.[2][3]

Her campaign website says Mannion served as president of the Emergency Nurses Association, chair of the Academy of Emergency Nursing, trustee of the Emergency Nurses Association Foundation, and immediate past chair of the Nurses on Boards Coalition.[2] She says she spent decades providing humanitarian medical care in South America, Asia and Africa, and worked as an international healthcare consultant in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. She also describes herself as a small business owner, a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and the Emergency Nursing Association, a Rotarian, a church volunteer and a leader on multiple nonprofit boards.[1][2]

Mannion filed paperwork to seek the Democratic nomination, telling LNP that Smucker's vote for the 2025 budget bill inspired her to run. She was the only Democrat on the May 19, 2026 primary ballot and received 41,107 votes.[1][3]
