On the ballot Nov 3, 2026: Massachusetts Senate Worcester and Middlesex

Biography

Ming Zhang is an unenrolled candidate for the Massachusetts State Senate, Worcester and Middlesex District, in the November 3, 2026 general election, where he faces incumbent Democrat John J. Cronin.[1] A real estate professional and longtime Westford resident, he says his campaign centers on affordability and housing.[1][2]

Ming Zhang earned a bachelor's degree from Beijing Foreign Studies University in 1986 and a graduate degree from the University of Hawaii, Manoa, according to Ballotpedia, which lists real estate as his profession.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he described himself as a first-generation immigrant, a longtime Westford resident and a father of three.[2] He said he has worked for more than two decades in enterprise technology and team leadership, taught English at the college level in Beijing earlier in his career, and manages residential real estate.[2]

Zhang said in the survey that affordability is his top priority, including housing costs, property taxes and everyday expenses such as energy, healthcare and transportation.[2] He said he supports increasing housing supply through zoning changes, redevelopment and a town-by-town approach.[2] He described his campaign as an independent, grassroots effort and said it had not announced formal endorsements.[2]
