Biography
Mike Bockus is the Democratic candidate for Oklahoma House of Representatives District 41 in the November 3, 2026 general election, where he faces Republican incumbent Denise Hader.[1] A software engineer and adjunct professor from Oklahoma City, he says he is running on school funding, government transparency and access to the state question process.[2]
Bockus was born and raised in Wilburton, Oklahoma, where both of his parents taught in the public schools, according to a 2022 Ballotpedia survey.[2] In that survey, he said he has lived in northwest Oklahoma City since 2011, works as a software engineer with a local consulting group and is an adjunct professor at the University of Central Oklahoma.[2]
Bockus ran against Hader for District 41 in 2022 and again in 2024, and Hader won both general elections.[1] His Democratic primary in 2026 was canceled, and he advanced to the general election without appearing on the primary ballot.[1] In the survey, he listed addressing reduced school funding, providing government transparency and limiting barriers to placing state questions on the ballot as his key messages.[2]
