Mike Beltran is the Republican nominee for Florida's 14th Congressional District. A trial attorney and business owner, he served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2018 to 2024 and chose not to seek re-election in 2024. His campaign website describes him as known in the Florida House as "the Billslayer" and says he is campaigning on the border, taxes, spending, and abortion.[1]
Beltran was born in New York, New York, and graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 2002. In his Ballotpedia survey he says he was an Eagle Scout growing up.[1] He earned a bachelor's degree in international relations from the University of Pennsylvania in 2005 and a law degree from Harvard Law School in 2008.[1] He worked as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Steven D. Merryday and as an associate at Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP, and later as a litigator at his own firm, Beltran Litigation, P.A. He says he moved to Florida seeking economic opportunity and started a business that he still operates.[1][2]
Beltran first ran for the Florida House in 2018 and won the general election for District 57; he was re-elected in 2020. In 2022 he won re-election in the redrawn District 70, defeating Eleuterio Salazar Jr., and he left office in November 2024 without seeking another term.[1] According to his campaign website, he was known in the Florida House as "the Billslayer" for defeating bills, and he championed school choice there.[1] He advanced from the August 18, 2026 Republican primary for Florida's 14th Congressional District.[1]
