Micah Jones

RCandidate

On the ballot Nov 3, 2026: U.S. House · Massachusetts's 6th District

Biography

Micah Jones is the Republican nominee for the open Massachusetts 6th District seat, having been unopposed in the September 1 primary.[1][3] An Army veteran who served with the 82nd Airborne Division, including in Afghanistan, he is an attorney who has represented clients before the SEC.[1][2] A former Democrat who became an independent and then a Republican, he describes himself as center-right on fiscal issues and says his campaign is built on three priorities: accountability, opportunity and security.[1][2]

Jones served in the U.S. Army from 2011 to 2016, predominantly with the 82nd Airborne Division, including a deployment to Afghanistan from 2014 to 2015.[1][2] He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of California, San Diego, and a law degree from Northeastern University School of Law, which he says he paid for using the GI Bill.[1]

Jones works as an attorney representing clients before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, including in SEC investigations and litigation.[1] He says this role barred him from trading individual stocks and that members of Congress should be held to the same standard.[1]

Jones describes himself as a former Democrat and told Fox News he left the party around 2016, during law school, and became an independent before joining the Republican Party.[2] In the 2026 race he says the district's seat is open for the first time in 47 years and that he would seek to work with the administration where appropriate.[1][2] He describes himself as a husband and father.[1]
