Biography
Mark Youngquist is the Democratic candidate for the Utah House of Representatives, District 63, in the November 3, 2026 general election, against incumbent Republican Stephen Whyte and Utah Forward Party candidate Julie Smith.[1] Youngquist works as a product manager and, in a Ballotpedia survey, said he is running in part because no race should go unopposed.[2]
Youngquist was born in Riverton, Wyoming, and earned a high school diploma from Wheat Ridge High School and a bachelor's degree from Utah Valley University in 2014.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he has lived in Utah for 20 years, graduated from UVU with a degree in digital media and a minor in computer science, has worked for Utah businesses, and has started his own small business.[2]
Youngquist said his priorities include reducing what he called the Legislature's focus on the LGBTQ community and providing public schools with quality materials and staff.[2] He said that increasing teacher salaries and funding for school supplies would be a top priority.[2]
